The event was organized by DAFNI Network with the cooperation of the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands and Outermost Regions Energy Network, which includes Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion, Saint-Martin, the Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands on 6 June, in the framework of this year’s EU Sustainable Energy Week!
Moderated by Alkisti Florou on behalf of DAFNI Network and with the participation of distinguished speakers from the DG ENER (Brendan Devlin), CPMR – Conference of peripheral maritime regions(Giuseppe Sciacca), EURELECTRIC (Teresa Luis Ruiz), Regional Governments of the Canary Islands (Pedro Ortega Rodriguez) and Balearic Islands (Joan Groizard Payeras) and OREN (Gonzalo Piernavieja Izquierdo), the event showcased successful projects deployed on European islands that combine cutting-edge technologies with innovative regulatory and financing schemes, creating an enabling environment for harnessing islands’ potential to accelerate decarbonization locally. The event will feed into the work undertaken by SMILE Project, where DAFNI is partner.
