In the framework of YENESIS project, DAFNI Network organized a 5-day training course in Athens between 25 and 31 January 2020. 12 NEETs from 10 Greek islands (Aegina, Corfu, Kastelorizo, Kefalonia, Naxos, Paros, Samothraki, Skiathos, Skopelos and Syros) had the chance to get trained in the fields of energy efficiency, RES, sustainable tourism and sustainable mobility. The course included presentations, participatory workshops and field visits in companies specialized in the above mentioned fields.
The next months the project will take the selected participants through a process to equip them with the skills needed to enter the green jobs market. These are:
- a 3-day long showcasing exhibitiontrip in Norway on the selected area of interest, a month long apprenticeship in one other participating locations, and
- a 6- month local placement.
YENESIS main objective is to reduce unemployment of young NEET by creating green jobs in islands in the four areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable transport and mobility. Moreover, YENESIS aspires to support youth entrepreneurship in practice by directing young professionals to occupations of the future, occupations with added value for the careers of young people and the sustainable development of islands.
