Kick-off meetings for the IMPLEMENT project

The Aegean Energy & Environment Agency (AEEA), as a partner to the IMPLEMENT project, has undertaken to integrate the quality management and certification system known as European Energy Award (eea) into 6 island municipalities, all members of DAFNI Network. The aim is to further develop and implement strategic plans of municipalities for climate and energy.

In the past, kick-off meetings were held on three Aegean islands participating in the project. In particular, AEEA travelled to Kos, Milos and Chios in order to introduce IMPLEMENT, eea along with the methodology and the tool involved, and of course the benefits that arise in each Municipality. In cooperation with representatives of the Municipality and the Working Group in each municipality, local energy planning has been extensively discussed as it currently stands and the first steps have been defined to improve and implement it more effectively.

The Working Group includes representatives of the Technical Service, the Environment Service, the Planning Service, the Financial Service, the Municipal Enterprises, Committees etc. with experience in the fields of energy, infrastructure, waste water, water resources and mobility projects. The setting-up of the Working Groups is proportional to the organisational structures of each municipality.

AEEA will work closely together with the Working Group in each Municipality to provide support for the implementation of eea and will hold meetings which are expected to take place regularly.
